What You’ll Learn

Explore the roots of yoga through key texts, including the Yoga Sutras and the Eight Limbs. Learn how yoga extends beyond the mat as a lifestyle and path of service. We’ll also touch on ethics, teacher-student relationships, and the role of community.

Begin building your foundation in movement. Learn the purpose and effect of various asanas and explore alignment principles that support safe and effective teaching.

Deepen your understanding of how yoga works in the body. This module introduces key anatomical systems and explores how to lead safe, informed classes for real-world bodies.

Muscles, joints, bones, and fascia
Tension vs. compression in poses
Major systems: musculoskeletal, respiratory, endocrine
Applying anatomy to asana and teaching

Study the major lineages of yoga and how they’ve evolved. You’ll explore the Ashtanga primary series and understand how movement styles have shaped modern yoga.

Throughout the training, you’ll complete:
30 hours of personal practice
6 hours of class observation
5+ hours of teaching practice
You’ll lead at least one 60-minute class and receive feedback in a supportive, growth-oriented setting. Additional teaching practice may be offered if needed.

Yes. To maintain the standards set by Yoga Alliance and uphold the integrity of this training, students are required to attend 100% of the eight mandatory modules.
If you need to miss a portion of a module, a makeup session may be scheduled at Katie’s discretion and availability. All assignments must be completed by the end of the program in order to graduate and receive certification.

Yes. To receive certification, students must complete all program hours, modules, and assignments within 12 months of the start date (July 27, 2025).
This is a live-cohort program, so you’re expected to attend scheduled sessions and stay current with assignments. Any extensions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Yes - all tuition and fees paid (outside of the $200 non-refundable deposit) will be refunded if a written request is made within five (5) business days of signing your contract. Refunds are issued within 30 days.
After that window - or once the program begins - no refunds will be granted.
In the unlikely event the program is canceled by the lead trainer or Ground & Center Yoga, all monies paid will be refunded in full within 30 days.

Yes - each module is available as a standalone for $300 and counts for 15 Yoga Alliance CEUs. This is a great option for teachers or practitioners looking to deepen their study in a specific area without completing the full certification.

On average, expect to dedicate 4–6 hours per week, depending on the module. This includes live sessions, readings, practice, and assignments. During live weekends or practicum weeks, time commitments may be higher.

No - this program is open to anyone seeking a deeper connection to yoga. Whether your goal is to teach or to simply deepen your personal practice, you’re welcome here. Many students come for personal growth, not professional goals.

This training is not branded or marketed as a trauma-informed program, but it is taught by instructors who have received trauma-awareness training. You’ll learn to approach teaching with compassion, consent-based language, and the understanding that every student’s experience is unique.

Yes - this program is registered with Yoga Alliance (RYS-200) and meets all requirements for a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training.
Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion and become eligible to register as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) through Yoga Alliance.
Please note: Yoga Alliance charges separate registration fees, and job placement is not guaranteed.

Not necessarily. Most teaching practice is completed live during scheduled sessions or supported feedback circles. If you're unable to attend a required practice teach, you may be asked to submit a recorded video in order to receive feedback and complete your practicum requirements.
This is the only 200-hour training we’re offering in 2025.
